Salamander Active Directory and SharePoint can enable parental access to Class Notebooks

OneNote-class-notebooksLast year Microsoft enabled sharing of Class Notebooks with parents. This allows you to create read only links to the Content Library and individual student notebooks: for more details see https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/nzedu/2017/04/20/major-onenote-class-notebook-announcement-sharing-with-parents/ or https://blogs.office.com/en-us/2017/04/19/onenote-class-notebook-updates-include-read-only-parent-or-guardian-access-and-collaboration-space-permissions/?eu=true.

At the time we added support to create those links to Salamander Active Directory and SharePoint and am now rolling out the functionality more generally.

To get this enabled please email support, although we would recommend testing our the Class Notebook functionality with a limited subset first to make sure it does what you want it to.

Salamander Active Directory can now manage events in your SIMs Diary

We have just completed adding functionality that allows Salamander Active Directory to manage events in your SIMs Diary. This allows it to create and update events from another source such as a shared Outlook calendar without you needing to re-key the events into SIMs. The events are given a specified category to ensure that they are self contained and the process does not affect other events. This also allows you to synchronize multiple sources into your SIMs diary.

If this is something that you would like implementing in your Salamander Active Directory set up then please contact support@salamandersoft.co.uk.
